PACT is preparing to implement phase one of the Cognitive Remediation project. PACT’s Consultant, Luis Sandoval, visited the PACT team recently and traveled with staff and
met PACT consumers. He then helped facilitate phase one of the CRT pilot. PACT hosted two focus groups and the groups were recorded and analyzed to guide the selection and
implementation of the Cognitive Remediation interventions of the pilot investigation.
This project will bring a valuable new intervention to PACT’s array of services.
CRT is designed to address cognitive and social deficits inherent with schizophrenia. CRT uses drills and group interactions and coaching to target these developmental areas in order to improve the ability to comprehend, respond to and initiate social interactions. This skill set can vastly improve social and vocational functioning which is important to the clients PACT serves.
The PACT staff and community say thank you to Terry Monson for making this opportunity possible. Plus, an additional thank you to FOP for deciding to fund this important investigation! PACT has begun this important study.
